the needle and blood

i don't have much to say. i'm watching the movie 'unforgiven' with commentary from some random film critic i've never heard of. kim and i were watching 'goodfellas' earlier tonight. another amazing movie is 'there will be blood'. probably the best movie i've seen from '07. not sure i'd want to see it over and over. not like unforgiven and goodfellas. a movie that's not so great is '21'. i suppose it could be entertaining for the simple-minded. the movie is basically 'ocean's 11', meets 'casino', meets the movie where the high schoolers try to steal the SAT answers. i never saw that last movie, by the way. 21 is so very predictable. and cheap. bad editing too. lawrence fishburn isn't that bad though.

nothing is really going on. katie is as cute as ever. she can get a little feisty though. i'm getting into the holiday mind frame i guess. torn city is going well. i own a good law firm and right now i'm on a plane to the UK.

my job is so-so. thursday was such an up and down day. started out usual for about an hour. then we had an all-hands meeting with my boss's boss's boss's boss's boss (there are two more above that last boss; i have a ways to go). we have lots of 'all-hands' with various big-wigs all throughout the year. usually the same stuff is said and the same questions are asked. then back to my office to answer a few emails before driving home. once home we had to give a physical for life insurance. i had to give blood which made a nightmare of a week leading up to this day. a nightmare is an understatement. it was the hardest thing i've done since getting my masters. left back to work and stopped at chipotle first. i figured i deserved a good lunch. brought it back to work. worked. i was so out of it after having to give blood. i seemed to barely form sentences when i was talking to my boss. she probably though i was high. told her i probably would go home early but realized i could close out a case which had been due that day. i would have been pissed if i missed my date. i had been pretty down these past few days because i was expecting to miss the date. things turned around at the last minute though and i was able to get the job finished. that reminds me to shoot an email over to the guy that really made things work out. finally went home around 5:30. so i guess it was a good and bad day mostly. friday was nuts too but i'll spare the details.

so i'd much rather be laying on the couch watching this movie than sitting at a tv dinner tray on my laptop. the film critic is not so bad. critics seem to provide much better commentaries than the dumb actors of the movie. i'm beat. time to get horizontal.

the greatest day

it's pretty great watching history in the making like this. ohio just went to obama which will pretty much seal the deal i think. all of those naive and ignorant people out there can move to kansas or alabama. kentucky has some room for you too. all those people who failed to get informed or were duped by all of mccain and palin's attacks on obama's character and ideals can just stop being a part of the u.s. electoral process. all of those uneducated hillbillies who lack common sense should not waste our time. of course, not all mccain supporters will fit that mold. some wanted mccain for military experience, political experience, hot VP, etc. and that's cool. but those that counted out obama because of stupid catch phrases from his opponents, like he was pallin' with terrorists or he's a socialist, those people can go crawl back into their ignorant holes. and for anyone who voted against him because of the color of his skin, well, you all can go to hell. this country believed in this man, not because of his democratic views or his swagger, but because of who he is and what we believe he will do for this country. barack obama will lead this country like no other in recent memory. we are all so lucky to be alive during this time. i'm very thankful for this country and our democratic process. god bless this country and our next president. seriously.

palin, get the hell out of the lower 48 and get your hot ass back on a plane to alaska. and don't come back!

joe the plumber, be an american and go pay your taxes.

as for me, i'm moving to massachusetts. all states need to follow lead; decriminalize baby!

the 2008 election

watching 10,000 B.C. why do they all have british accents? are they trying to be "exotic" to the american audience? this is very similar to apocalypto, just with giant extinct animals. special effects were decent. the giant dinosaur turkeys actually looked somewhat real.

had a nice halloween. no parties, no costume, no booze. just good old fashion minnie mouse. our little girl did really good. we hit up probably twelve houses until some crazy skeleton thing yelled out and made her curl her lip and sob. i think she really enjoyed being out and seeing all of the other kids. i know she enjoyed seeing all of our neighbor's doggies. she is a very brave girl. not afraid of doggies or spiders. but stupid battery operated skeletons she can't take.

i enjoyed obama's tv special. it was very moving which i'd expect nothing less from him. the election is over. i'm not saying people should not vote at this point. everyone should vote and if everyone does then it'll only ensure his victory. but really, the election is done. the electorals are his. the popular vote is his. even if the popular vote is as close as some of the polls say they are, who cares? obama has enough of the states that matter to be the next pres. the old man and hot chick from alaska need to just step aside.

lately i've been spending a lot of my time in the city of torn. it's a nice place, light crime, good weather. i'm looking into buying a law firm. and my wife has been begging me to buy her a new car. she doesn't even have a drivers license yet! but she is a good torn city wife.

school is over. work is good. monday will be a good day because i'll start doing the work i've been wanting to do all along. well, that's all for one night. i hope for many more lucid dreams to come.
